Time seems to pass quickly when you’re working hard and having fun! 2022 signifies 35 years in business for Pacific Cascade Corporation, and what a ride it’s been! From our humble beginnings in 1987 to present day, the future is bright. But first, let’s revisit where we’ve been:

The Honor Box was the flagship product that started it all. Assembled in the living room of our founder and current President/CEO, Mark Curtis’s home, the Honor Box is a self-service – cash only - parking stall pay box made from high strength steel. Its purpose is to allow parking operations to continue without the full-time presence of a parking attendant. After parking a vehicle in a space, the constituent would walk to the honor box and insert their cash in a numbered slot to pay for their parking space.

The ParkingZone Retail Catalog was then launched to help parking operations easily find and order parking related products for their facilities.

A 90-Degree Chalk Stick was developed to effortlessly mark tires without getting chalk dust on your hands or needing to bend over. It’s adjustable, lightweight, and easy to store design made it a popular tool among parking enforcement officers and parking operators. Later, with feedback from customers, the Straight End Chalk Stick was created. So, whether someone is walking or riding in a parking enforcement cart, they have choices!

In 1995, DGM Systems, the sister company to Pacific Cascade Corp, was incorporated to service and install Parking Revenue Enforcement equipment in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.

The Magnetic Gorilla Post System was developed with the assistance of the City of Portland, Oregon to temporarily reserve parking spaces throughout the city. Currently you may find Gorilla Posts in the wild at many parking garages, lots, schools, drive through’s, etc... around the world. We continue to manufacture and test every Gorilla Post and Bollard before shipment to ensure a top-quality product.

ParkingZone.com launches! Taking all products from a catalog form to the world wide web allowed us to easily increase our variety of product offerings without delay.

PVC Gate Arm and Bracket were conceived as a lightweight, cost effective and unique barrier that can be easily trimmed and reused again if a motorist impacts the gate arm. The Bracket has a universal design that will fit on multiple makes and models of gate machines.

The GreenDrop Recycling Station was designed through our combined efforts with the Portland Trail Blazers Head Office to reduce their environmental footprint and assist with sortation of their waste. Each unit is made from recycled plastic and allows recyclable, compostable, and trash items to be easily sorted by arena constituents.

Midwest Parking Products was a long-time supplier of foam Gate Arm pads, and we worked many years with owner Steve Vincelli providing their gate arm padding across North America. When Steve decided to retire and sell the business in 2019, he reached out to Mark Curtis as he felt that Pacific Cascade was the correct fit to purchase his business. Mark agreed and the rest is history!

TrafficZone.com launched! Like ParkingZone.com, TrafficZone.com is centered around offering on-street traffic solutions and providing the construction industry with safety supplies.

The Magnetic Gorilla Guard is a new product that debuted in Spring of 2022 and is a specially modified Magnetic Gorilla Post used for the swinging hazard zone around rotating heavy equipment. A rotating superstructure can pose a risk of striking and injuring an unaware employee. The Gorilla Guard magnetically attaches to the heavy equipment’s swing radius forming a visual and flexible barrier.

The future continues to look bright and there are more products in development ready for their debut: The Parklio Smart Parking Barrier and additions to our offering of the Parkline Sign System. More breaking news to come on both products, so stay tuned. Thank you for being part of our history and we look forward to great things in the future!
