Pavement markers, what are they and what do they do? Most people have seen a pavement marker without realizing what they are or what they are called. Pavement markers are those small, colorful pyramids, domes or flaps that you see on the edges of lanes, roadways, crosswalks, bike lanes, and other places on the street. Pavement markers typically come in three different styles. Reflective Traffic Markers look like little pyramids with the pointy part cut off. They feature reflective surfaces for traffic driving one way or both ways and can come in single or dual color configurations. These are one of, if not the most common pavement marker, as they mark the middle and shoulder lines for driving lanes on roads across the United States. Reflective Markers come in One-Way White, One-Way Amber, Two-Way White/Red, Two-Way Red, Two-Way White, and Two-Way Amber.
