Recently the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) posted an interesting video on social media, and it went viral. It shows a driver who seemingly lost all forward gears in their car’s transmission. ODOT took the opportunity to highlight the situation.
According to the ODOT post, it shows a traffic incident involving a motorist who drove their car in reverse for more than a mile on the freeway…with the flow of traffic. That driver had some decent driving skills to employ this “back-up plan” entirely in reverse! Even though it might be common sense to most, if your car breaks down and cannot be driven in a regular fashion, you should listen to the standard safety precaution and “pull safely to the side of the road and call for assistance.”
